Container Transportation - What you need to know

            A Word on Container Transportation

When ordering any size sea container, check and see if your delivery site is acceptable for Container Mania’s delivery equipment.  The surface has to be firm, dry, and fairly level.  We generally deliver with a heavy truck tractor/tilt bed trailer or straight tilt bed truck.  There has to be plenty of maneuvering space available to enter your property from the main road and then stop and drop the container.  At the dropping area the bed of the truck, or trailer, tilts upward and the doors, or rear, of the container is placed on the ground. As we pull away the container slides off and the doors hit the ground first or last depending on how you ask us to load the container prior to shipping.  Generally at least 110’ of straight pull away will spot a sea container 40’ long. This distance is decreased to 65’ for straight truck deliveries of a 20’ container.

The drop area may be too tight to position containers exactly where you want them.  In this case you need access to heavy equipment.  They can usually be positioned by moving them into place with your equipment.  Always keep in mind that we still need enough room to enter and exit your property with Container Mania’s delivery equipment.

Transportation charges are based on an hourly portal to portal rate, or a charge based on the total number of calculated miles from our yard to your delivery site.  Container Mania will always try to find the lowest rate available for your area.
